Keynote Speaker: Debbie Anderson,
Dayton Codebreakers |
|
Debbie Anderson
co-directed the 2006 documentary film, Dayton
Codebreakers, which was produced by Dayton's PBS
station (ThinkTV). Anderson is the daughter of
Joseph Desch, NCR engineer and leader of a top
secret codebreaking operation in Dayton during
WWII. The Navy needed Desch's expertise to
design codebreaking machines which were used
against the German Enigma machine. This top
secret operation remained classified for more
than fifty years.
Jim Weiner, program
manager for ThinkTV remarks "Just when you think
all the World War II stories have been mined,
this gem emerges. And it came to light
because a daughter played detective in hunting
down the top secret answer to what her father
did during the war."

www.daytoncodebreakers.org and then come to
the SAME 2010 Regional Conference banquet to hear Debbie Anderson tell the story of her
findings and her father's heroic career! |
